Does Debenhams operate an ADR Programme?
Debenhams announced on 14 February 2011 to sponsor an American Depositary Receipt (ADR) programme. This replaced previous unsponsored ADR programmes. Citigroup was appointed depositary for the Level 1 ADR programme. Each ADR represents four ordinary shares of Debenhams plc. The ADRs trade on the “Over the Counter” market under the symbol DBHSY US. ADRs allow US investors to buy shares in foreign companies without the need for cross-border or cross-currency transactions. They are priced and pay any dividends in dollars and can be traded like the shares of US-based companies.
